The Mara Engai Experience
Don’t take our word for it, here are a few reviews by guests who recently visited our wilderness lodge:
Home Away From Home
This lodge is in an excellent location, a little far but worth staying at. The tents are very large, all with modern amenities. Its organic garden is worth visiting. Regarding the food, it was the only place I was really satisfied with in terms of the taste and quality of food.
The chef Mr. Raju personally takes care of your taste buds and prepares food according to your choice. He also allows you to prepare food by yourself in the hotels neat and tidy restaurant. All staff including reception, housekeeping are very friendly. The bush dinner they organised was really entertaining.
Heaven On Earth
Or perhaps it is heaven itself – I can’t tell the difference! Unbelievably friendly and welcoming staff: they even cleaned my shoes without asking after I had slipped into the mud. The “tent” was bigger than our house…
Excellent In So Many Ways
The Mara Engai sits approximately 1000ft above the Maasai Mara Reserve. If you fly into the Serena airstrip, the lodge is a 30-minute drive on dirt roads with a final steep climb from the Mara to the lodge. The accommodation is spacious, well maintained and comfortable.
The waterfall shower and hot water bottles that are placed in your bed in the evening were a pleasant surprise. The staff was very friendly and provided excellent service. Our game driver, Sherriff, was very experienced and provided us with multiple game drives that were safe, fun, educational and exciting.
Mara Engai And Mombasa
Sept 2018. WOW, it took my breath away. Scenery from the lodge absolutely fantastic, safari range driver ( Daniel ) really knew exactly where to find the game. Every staff at Mara Engai just could not be more helpful but not overpowering.
Forks I cannot praise this lodge enough to justify. You have to visit the place to appreciate. Alcohol drinks bit on expensive side but do understand as its all imported.
