Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s top airline, is excited to announce the opening of its newly improved Domestic Terminal at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport. This major upgrade, costing 50 million USD, has doubled the terminal’s size to 25,750 m² and greatly increased its passenger capacity.
Mr. Mesfin Tasew, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group, shared his excitement, saying, “The new and improved domestic terminal is a big step forward in our efforts to modernize our airports. With more people travelling within Ethiopia, this upgrade will make their journeys smoother and more enjoyable.”
The new terminal is the main hub for Ethiopian Airlines’ domestic flights, handling over 200 flights daily to 22 destinations across Ethiopia. It now features modern facilities like four contact gates, 10 remote departure gates, 22 check-in counters with automated baggage screening, self-check-in kiosks, and advanced security systems. There’s also a Premier passengers’ lounge and many other amenities to make travel more comfortable and efficient.
Ethiopian Airlines is also expanding its services with new routes and upgraded facilities. They’ve recently started flights to Dembi Dollo and opened new terminals at Gode and Jinka airports. More airports will open soon, including new flights to Nekemte and the return of daily flights to Axum.
This new terminal is part of Ethiopian Airlines’ ongoing efforts to improve its infrastructure and services.
