Soon after it quickly became the talk of the town, as a must-try that serves up deliciously inspiring Indo-Chinese cuisine using the only the finest meats, seafood and produce sourced throughout Kenya. Over the years it’s stellar reputation continued to grow, where you now often hear the coastal city’s elite and the restaurants’ regulars, simply refer to it as Li’s. Fast-forward to today, the brand now has it’s second in the upmarket suburbs of Gigiri in Nairobi, with a third (hush-hush) opening in another location. There are only a handful of dining establishments in the country that you can really say have built their reputation on the taste of their food, and whether you want a set menu created for you based on the size of your group or you’re simply selecting dishes from their extensive menus, you can be rest assured that you and your group whether for business or pleasure – are in for an absolute mouth-watering treat.

Let’s begin things with Appetizers. As you peruse through this not-to-missed section of the menu, although their delicious starters & soups do make it very difficult to choose one over the other, worry not. Hospitality and service are key elements that do not falter at Li’s, and as so your dedicated table server is always at hand to help you expertly pick-out and recommend dishes based on your specific tastes, flavour and ingredient profiles. Here’s just some of what we highly-recommend; the Chicken Wonton Soup, the Tom Yum Prawn Soup, the Sweet Corn Soup, the Spicy Chicken Lollipops, Li’s Lamb Spare Ribs (a must-try), the Vegetable or Chicken Spring Rolls, the Paneer Satay and Li’s Golden Squid.

Again the choices here do seem endless, and although it maybe too much to list everything we’ve liked on the menus thus far, from their flavoursome vegetarian options, to their delicious chicken dishes, succulent beef & lamb, and ocean-fresh seafood delicacies, here’s just some of what we recommend this season; the Dry Chilli Garlic Chicken (this has an option with sauce too), the Sizzling Beef, the Lamb with Mushroom and ofcourse the Shanghai Styled Fish or Prawns (simply amazing).

The management at Li’s have indeed thought of everything, and yes that includes exclusive dining areas and rooms complete with their own dedicated service teams. That’s right, apart from the ever-popular Semi Private VIP Area within the main restaurant (can host groups upto 13 pax), Li’s Chinese Restaurant Gigiri also offers 2 Private VIP Rooms that can hold upto 19 persons each with a combined capacity of 40pax. The private rooms offer groups complete anonymity, with blacked-out windows and direct pathways and access to private lifts when required. It is recommended you book these spaces in advance, due to them being in high demand.
