Lintons Academy is an industry-focused, TVETA-accredited beauty college that upskills aspiring beauty professionals, graduates, and professional makeup artists.
Lintons Foundation a brainchild of Lintons Beauty World, is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2021 on the values of equal access to opportunity in the fast-growing beauty industry. The foundation is dedicated to enhance the economic standing of women, young people, and other disadvantaged populations.

Dr. Joyce Gikunda | Co-founder, Executive Director
Dr. Joyce Gikunda is a certified cosmetologist and pharmacist with a B. Pharm (Hons) from the University of Nairobi. With almost a decade of experience working with the Ministry of Health in Kenya, Dr. Joyce has led various pharmaceutical units. 40 years ago, she acquired Lyntons Pharmacy in downtown Nairobi and expanded it into a chain of highly successful pharmacies. Her passion for skincare and makeup led her to put up a beauty shelf in her pharmacy, which opened her eyes to the growing beauty industry.
Together with her husband, Dr. Joyce launched Lintons Beauty World, a multichannel retail business that offers top-of-the-line skincare, color cosmetics, luxury fragrance, and day-spa experience. The business has several retail stores in major malls in Nairobi, Mombasa & Kampala, and houses luxury and premium brands such as Fenty, Estee Lauder, Clinique, MAC, Chanel, Dior, and more. Lintons Beauty World also offers a platform for upcoming local brands and manufacturers to reach a fast-growing consumer base. Dr. Joyce also pioneered the incorporation of beauty and skincare consultation in pharmacy practice in Kenya. She recognized that the industry lacked the right talent supply and launched Lintons Academy, an accredited training institution that offers tailored and hands-on programs to uplift “beauty” as a high-potential career pathway for youth and women at scale.
She is revered as a mentor and role model to many beauty professionals, influencers, and entrepreneurs. Dr. Joyce has been a leading advocate against skin-bleaching creams and mercury-based cosmetics. She recognizes that counterfeit cosmetics and poor customer discernment surrounding their supply are a growing industry concern.
Dr. Joyce is a founder member of Cosmetology Society of Kenya, a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya, an ex-member of the Board of Management of Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), and a board member of several schools. She is also a wife, a mother of three children, and a grandmother.
