The highly anticipated Zuri Awards 2025 unfolded in spectacular fashion at the Mövenpick Hotel, Westlands, on the evening of March 6, 2025. Under the dazzling theme, “All That Glitters with a Touch of Gold,” this gala night was a true celebration of power, grace, and influence—shining a spotlight on the remarkable women shaping Kenya’s future. From the moment guests arrived, the air buzzed with excitement as Kenya’s most influential women, corporate leaders, media personalities, and changemakers gathered for this prestigious event.The CEO of Go Places, Mr. Mansoor Jiwani, and Managing Director Nev Jiwani, graced the occasion, with Go Places providing extensive coverage of the night’s highlights. Also in attendance were various dignitaries, stakeholders, sponsors, and media personalities, including renowned businesswoman and media mogul, Terryanne Chebet, who added her signature elegance to the night. The atmosphere was nothing short of electric, as guests mingled over welcome drinks, networking with some of Kenya’s most formidable leaders.
The official program kicked off at 7:00 PM, with the Master of Ceremonies; Mrs Teryanne Chebet setting the tone for an unforgettable night. Amisa Rashid, the Founder and Executive Director of Nivishe Foundation, took the stage to reflect on her inspiring journey as a past Zuri Honoree, sharing how the recognition propelled her impact.

Judy Njino, Executive Director of Global Compact Kenya, emphasized the importance of corporate commitment to gender equality. Hon. Umulkher Harun (Umi) and Hon. Wanjiku Muhia, both trailblazing women in politics, spoke passionately about the strides women are making in leadership. The Guest of Honor, H.E. Veronica M. Nduva, CBS, Secretary General of the East African Community, delivered a powerful keynote on the role of women in shaping the region’s future. A musical interlude added a touch of enchantment, before the awards segment began.
As the Key Judge, Dr. Jacqueline Okeyo, and Gladys Wangui, Auditor from Ernest & Martin Associates, highlighted the rigorous judging process and transparency, anticipation built for the night’s main event—the award presentations. From trailblazers in entrepreneurship, STEM, health, and governance, to champions of community development and social impact, the honorees represented the very best of Kenyan excellence. The room erupted in applause as each woman took the stage, their achievements a testament to resilience, innovation, and leadership.
The Zuri Foundation Co-Founder, Muthoni Mumo, shared the foundation’s vision, emphasizing the importance of accelerating action for gender equality.
