Week Of The Italian Cuisine In The World : Best Tiramisu Awards Nairobi Kenya

 Amazing Moments At The Best Tiramisu Awarding Event In the just concluded Italian Cuisine Week in Nairobi Kenya, the final judging for the Best Tiramisu was conducted on Tuesday 29th November 2022 at the Italian Embassy. The restaurants which participated were:

  • Non-Solo Gelato
  • Sugo
  • Caffee Concerto
  • Lucca at Villa Rosa Kempinski
  • La Dolce Vita
  • Il Giocoliere
  • Mambi Italia

During Italian Cuisine Week Restaurants that participated were required to prepare their signature Tiramisu in their own style representing their restaurants, however, they had to use the main ingredients of the Classic Tiramisu recipe which included Eggs, Sugar, Mascarpone, Coffee, Ladyfingers, Cream, & Cocoa Powder. These restaurants offered complimentary Tiramisu desserts to their clients who ordered full meals from the menu. These diners were then requested to give their true opinion of their Tiramisu experience and vote for the best Tiramisu in town.

During the week the visiting Italian Chef Guiseppe Geraci together with Chef Pietro Guido went around all the restaurants and judged the for the best.

The final judging and awarding of the winners was done by the Italian Ambassador H.E Roberto Natali and his wife and Mr Mansoor Jiwani a former chef and founder of the Chefs Delight Awards. The visiting chefs also got the chance to judge the Tiramisu. Chefs and restaurant owners displayed their Tiramisu creations before the judges and each gave a description of what they had on display. The judging criteria included Presentation, Taste and Overall Experience.

The literal meaning of Tiramisu in Italian is “pick me up” or “cheer me up”. As the name implies, this is an iconic Italian dessert that is served at the end of the meal.

After a lot of deliberation the winners were announced as follows: The Award for the Best Classic Tiramisu went to Mambo Italia The Award for Best Creative Tiramisu went to La Dolce Vita The Award for Best Innovative Tiramisu went to Non-Solo Gelato The Award for Best Presentation Tiramisu went to Lucca at Villa Rosa Kempinski The Award for Best Presentation Creative Tiramisu went to Caffe Concerto Il Giocoliere to 2nd position in Best Creative Tiramisu Here are some sharing moments with the Chefs Delight Awards, Event Sponsor and Go Places, Media Sponsor
