Adventure Meets Conservation, Highlights From Kenya’s Forest Challenge 2025

On November 29th, 2025, the lush Kereita Forest transformed into a vibrant playground for adventure and purpose during the 10th edition of The Forest Challenge 2025. Set against the scenic backdrop of the Aberdare Range, the event brought together corporate teams, conservation enthusiasts, and adrenaline seekers from across the country. It was a powerful fusion of teamwork, outdoor adventure, and environmental advocacy, all driven by a shared commitment to sustainability.

The day began with electrifying cultural performances organized by Gim Events, creating an energetic and festive atmosphere. Participants then took part in dynamic warm-up sessions led by Bramwel Wangila, preparing them for the physically demanding activities ahead. A moment of unity followed with the National Anthem, alongside a reflective prayer led by Julius Njoroge. Inspiring opening remarks from Benjamin Mundi and Nancy Ogonje set the tone, while Jabes Okumu guided the program before a representative of Alex Lemarkoko officially flagged off the challenge.

Teams then tackled a series of demanding forest trails designed to test endurance, strategy, and collaboration. A standout moment of the day was the symbolic tree-planting exercise led by Benjamin Mundi, underscoring the urgent need for forest conservation in combating climate change. Judges including John Nyaga, George Njagi, and Joseph Macharia assessed team performances, while lively entertainment, awards, and prize ceremonies kept the excitement flowing throughout the event.

As the afternoon unfolded, attention shifted to impactful discussions on conservation and sustainable forestry. Insightful sessions were led by Nancy Ogonje, Nelson Muiru, Kibet Boen, and David Kuria, alongside representatives from the Office of the Chief Conservator of Forests. These conversations highlighted the importance of collective responsibility and innovative solutions in safeguarding Kenya’s forests for future generations.

The success of The Forest Challenge 2025 was driven by strong partnerships with organizations committed to sustainability, including Safarilink, Madison Group, Kevian, Kenya Wildlife Service, Intrepid, and Hivos People Unlimited. Their collaboration demonstrated how partnerships can drive meaningful environmental impact and inspire community action.

Throughout the day, Go Places Media captured every memorable moment—from the adrenaline-filled challenges to the inspiring conservation efforts. As the event came to a close, participants left with a renewed sense of purpose, reminded that protecting Kenya’s forests is a shared mission that requires unity, commitment, and long-term action.
