A Room Full Of Destinations, Deals And Possibilities, Spotlight Travel Expo 2026
From 1st to 3rd September 2026, the Hyatt Regency Nairobi became a bustling convergence point for Africa’s travel and tourism fraternity as the 2nd Edition of Spotlight Travel Expo 2026 brought together an expansive mix of travel professionals, destination marketers, hospitality brands, airlines, tour operators, travel agents, investors and industry decision-makers. Organised by Houston Travel Marketing Services, the three-day B2B showcase created a focused arena for tourism products, destinations and commercial conversations to intersect. With more than 350 travel professionals and over 50 exhibitors, the expo illustrated the growing significance of specialised travel marketplaces in opening doors to new markets, strengthening industry relationships and creating fresh avenues for collaboration.

The exhibition opened on 1st September with the Welcome Reception Cocktail at Hyatt Regency Nairobi, setting an engaging tone for the days ahead. Exhibitors, buyers, partners and industry stakeholders gathered in a relaxed environment where introductions flowed naturally into conversations about destinations, products and business prospects. In an era where digital communication increasingly shapes commercial engagement, the reception underscored the enduring value of personal interaction. A handshake, a conversation and a shared exchange of ideas can provide the foundation for trust, deeper product understanding and relationships capable of extending well beyond the exhibition itself.

Across the exhibition floor, Spotlight Travel Expo assembled a colourful cross-section of Africa’s tourism offering. Organisations and brands including the Kenya Association of Travel Agents (KATA), Kenya Association of Tour Operators (KATO), KILIFAIR, Neptune Hotels, Bluebay Hotels, Miracle Collection, TAAG Angola Airlines, Four Seasons Serengeti Lodge and SKAL International Nairobi contributed to a marketplace spanning luxury hospitality, coastal retreats, safari experiences, aviation, cultural tourism and emerging destination propositions. For buyers and visitors, the expo became an opportunity to discover new products, compare market offerings and gain a broader perspective on the experiences shaping Africa’s increasingly diverse travel landscape.

At the heart of the showcase was the B2B programme, providing a structured platform for suppliers and buyers to move from introductions into substantive commercial dialogue. Scheduled appointments, product presentations, destination showcases and networking sessions opened discussions around market penetration, investment, technology, sustainability, aviation connectivity and evolving traveller behaviour. As consumers increasingly seek personalised itineraries, authentic encounters and experiences that deliver meaningful value, tourism businesses are under growing pressure to innovate and remain responsive. Spotlight Travel Expo provided a meeting ground where these dynamics could be examined directly and where conversations could potentially develop into new business relationships.

The expo’s wider impact was amplified through the collaboration of its partners, exhibitors and supporting stakeholders, including Go Places Media, KATA, KATO, KILIFAIR, Hyatt Regency Nairobi and Bluebay Hotels. Beyond the formal B2B agenda, the event brought together destination storytelling, product activations, demonstrations, entertainment and informal networking, adding texture to the commercial programme. Through photography, videography, interviews, real-time social media coverage and editorial storytelling, Go Places Media documented the personalities, products, conversations and encounters that gave the expo its character, extending the marketplace into the digital sphere. As the Nairobi edition drew to a close, Spotlight Travel Expo 2026 left behind a network of conversations, connections and possibilities—and the next chapter is already on the horizon, with Spotlight Travel Expo scheduled for 26th November 2026 at PrideInn Flamingo Beach Resort in Mombasa, Kenya.
