Island Camp Baringo
Island Camp Baringo is a luxurious resort on an island in the middle of Lake Baringo, the only freshwater lake north of the hemisphere in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley. It is easily accessible as all roads from Nakuru to the Lake are newly paved.
This island paradise is spread on an eroded volcanic plug surrounded by the tranquil lake giving an amazing 360-degree view of the landscape. You can watch the sunrise from the comfort of your bed or verandah with a cup of tea or coffee and view the spectacular sunset poolside overlooking the lake with a sundowner cocktail.

- 4 classic tent rooms, all with spectacular lake views.
For those that prefer more luxury, the 4 superior rooms feature a plunge pool and sun beds on the large verandah. There is a dining room with views of the lake.
There are two bars, famous for their hospitality, including the poolbar with its views of both sides of the lake.
For the more sporty, there is kayaking or donutting for children. There are also trips to a neighbouring Island where you can walk with giraffes and ostriches and other wildlife.
From island hopping, bird watching, kayaking to hiking on and off the island, you may not have enough time to do everything which means Island Camp Baringo is an ideal holiday spot to return.
The Lake is famous for its hundreds of bird species and our boat guides are experts at finding and identifying birds as well as other wildlife in the lake which include hippos and crocodiles.
Island Camp is less than an hour drive to Lake Bogoria with its millions of lesser and greater flamingos, one of the most incredible spectacles in Kenya along with the Wildebeest migration.
