Karen Blixen Coffee Garden & Cottages welcomes you to the Hattons Lounge, a memorable atmosphere to book your lunch or dinner reservations for family and friends. The elegant and stylishly furnished indoor restaurant is perfect for a formal dining experience. The Hattons Bar on the other end is relaxed and informal and captures the passion and personality of a rustic-themed decor with richly textured chairs and couches, a huge fireplace, wall-to-wall windows, and expansive skylights.

The stylish atmosphere that speaks elegance ensures that our guests also receive the same quality with every meal; whether you’re up for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, great taste is always in season. The restaurant offers both A La Carte and buffet menus for both local and international dishes with a strong focus on sourcing the freshest ingredients from local Kenyan farms. The Bar offers a wide range of cocktail menus and stocks an international selection of both old and new wines from across the globe. One can relax at the pergola right next to the beautiful heated pool and enjoy a whiskey and cigar.

Accommodation

As if that’s not enough, one can enjoy a stay at the luxurious cottages at Karen Blixen Coffee Garden & Cottages. Guests are assured of an enjoyable stay following the renovations. Each cottage had the roof and bathroom done afresh. The skylights in the bathroom flood it with light giving it the illusion of being part of an outdoor space. The bathrooms have double vanities, a bench, and huge shower cubicles that can comfortably fit a wheelchair. The wooden flooring and high ceilings were sanded to their natural colour making the interior feel cosy. All furniture and soft furnishings in neutral colours are new giving a sense of warmth and calmness. All rooms are now equipped with a coffee station, satellite TV, telephone, WiFi, safe, iron & ironing board, hairdryer, fireplace and a mini bar.

All cottages are uniquely designed and configured as follows; 6 standard cottages with a sitting area around the fireplace. The standard cottages are ideal for singles, couples or friends traveling together. Please note that these cannot accommodate a third bed – only a baby cot. 3 family cottages each with 2 en-suite bedrooms and a common living room. The family cottages are ideal for families or friends traveling together. An extra bed can be added in the living room. 1 honeymoon suite. This suite has a large bedroom, a lounge spacious for two and two fire places. All rooms apart from the honeymoon suite can be configured into twins.
