KTB Applauds Partners For Contributions To Tourism Excellence

In a significant nod to the collaborative spirit that underpins the success of Kenya’s tourism industry, the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) recently recognized key partners for their pivotal role in driving the country’s tourism growth. The acknowledgment came during the inaugural Magical Kenya Loyalty Rewards Program, held alongside the 3rd edition of the East African Regional Travel Expo (EARTE).

KTB Chairperson, Francis Gichaba, emphasized the indispensable contribution of the private sector to the flourishing tourism business in Kenya. The symbiotic relationships formed through partnerships, particularly in familiarization tours and trade forums across the country, have proven instrumental in mitigating direct expenditures amid budgetary constraints.

Gichaba highlighted the interconnected nature of brand building and tourism growth, emphasizing that collaboration within the sector is paramount for sustainable success. “Our goal is to reach 5.5 million tourists in the next five years, and everyone has a role to play in this,” he asserted.

The Magical Kenya Loyalty Rewards Program, designed to appreciate stakeholders participating in KTB-led initiatives, recognized 44 partners during its maiden scheme. The tier-based system placed Kenya Airways at the forefront in the Platinum category, while various hospitality and tour and travel firms received silver and bronze recognition.

Kenya Airways General Manager for Africa, Rose Kiseli, credited the joined partnerships with KTB for boosting arrivals from key tourist source markets. Kiseli emphasized the impact of joint roadshows across Europe, East, and West Africa, contributing to a notable increase in weekly flights from Europe ahead of the holiday season.

KTB CEO Ag. John Chirchir emphasized the agency’s commitment to partnership-driven strategies for driving demand for Kenya’s tourism products. Chirchir highlighted the importance of marketing partnerships in directly reaching travelers and tailoring messages to create interest and awareness.

As KTB renews its focus on collaborative efforts with travel trade partners both locally and internationally, the loyalty awards scheme stands as a testament to the board’s dedication to fostering sustained tourism growth. The recognition of key partners reflects a shared commitment to showcasing the diverse and vibrant experiences Kenya has to offer to the global traveler. Through strategic partnerships, the country is poised to achieve its ambitious tourism goals while creating unforgettable experiences for visitors from around the world.
