Tourism Reimagined, Inside Kenya’s Most Forward Thinking Forum, TOSK AGM 2025
On Friday, 20th June 2025, the Tour Operators Society of Kenya (TOSK) hosted an impactful and forward-thinking forum themed “Leveraging Innovation for Sustainable Tourism” at the elegant Trademark Hotel, Village Market. With guests dressed in vibrant safari wear reflecting Kenya’s rich cultural identity, the event brought together top minds from the tourism, technology, and conservation sectors. Go Places™ was proud to be the official media partner for this high-profile event, which successfully sparked critical conversations on innovation, sustainability, and collaborative growth. The morning session began with warm hospitality—guests were treated to fresh coffee, tea, and delightful snacks during registration. The event kicked off at 8:30 AM with opening remarks from the MC, followed by a heartfelt prayer and the national anthem. Welcome speeches followed shortly after, with a heartfelt address by TOSK Chairman, and welcoming notes from the host venue, Trademark Hotel.
The first panel discussion titled “Tourism Tech & Innovation: Adapting to the Future” featured leading voices from Triply, Bonfire Adventures, Oriel, Kenya Airways, and CFAO Mobility, each sharing groundbreaking insights into how technology is reshaping Kenya’s tourism landscape.
By 10:00 AM, the stage welcomed dignitaries and special guests from across the sector. Brief but impactful speeches were delivered by representatives from KTB, KWS, TRA, Ministry of Tourism, KNCCI, and even the Ugandan High Commission.
A major highlight of the morning was the keynote addresses delivered by H.E. Joash Maangi, Kenya’s High Commissioner to Uganda, and H.E. William Alexander McDonald, Barbados’ High Commissioner to Kenya. These addresses emphasized the importance of cross-border partnerships and sustainable strategies that not only benefit Kenya but also strengthen Pan-African and Caribbean alliances in tourism and conservation.
After a short tea break and networking session with exhibitors, the forum reconvened for a second thought-provoking panel discussion titled “Sustainable Tourism Practices That Work in Kenya.” Panelists from KTB, Amref, Sopa Lodges, KWS, and a guides representative shared practical strategies and real-life success stories, offering a blueprint for environmentally and socially responsible tourism. A lively Q&A followed, allowing the audience to engage with the experts and raise relevant issues affecting the sector today.
Exhibitors were also given a special platform to shine, with notable showcases from CFAO Mobility, Triply, Bedouin Trip, Forever Africa, Africa Adventure Traveller, Mosaic Health, Maxis, Midas Travel, and Kilimanjaro Balloon Safaris. These presentations highlighted cutting-edge travel services, health innovations, and eco-tourism packages that align with the forum’s sustainability focus. The morning session closed with remarks from a TOSK representative before attendees enjoyed a delicious lunch and vibrant networking.
The afternoon session, exclusive to TOSK members, was marked by structured progress updates, financial and trustee reports, and an insightful closed session titled “Innovating for Impact.” This strategic dialogue focused on actionable steps in policy advocacy, future partnerships, and innovation opportunities. The day wrapped up with the nomination and confirmation of office bearers, resolutions, and official closing remarks. Attendees then enjoyed afternoon tea followed by a vibrant evening networking session from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Among the distinguished attendees were Go Places™ Media, underscoring continued commitment to amplifying the voice of tourism through quality media coverage.
