From Humble Beginnings To Aviation Giants
Ethiopian Airlines Group, Africa’s largest airline, proudly commemorated its 78th anniversary, a testament to nearly eight decades of resilience and innovation since its inception in 1946. They’ve continued soaring into more years of operations, stamping a commendable print in the aviation world.
On this momentous occasion, Group Chief Executive Officer Mr. Mesfin Tassew and Chief Commercial Officer Mr. Lemma Yadecha personally accompanied the crew on a flight to Cairo. Their involvement extended beyond in-flight duties; they also provided assistance to passengers during check-in and boarding processes, ensuring a seamless travel experience. This flight symbolized not only a tribute to their past but also a reaffirmation of their commitment to the ethos of servant leadership.
Since their humble beginning in 1946, Ethiopian Airlines has evolved into an aviation giant in Africa. They pioneered African aviation, introducing numerous innovations along the way. Their unwavering commitment to passengers remains at the heart of their operations. As they mature beautifully, their commitment only grows stronger.
In line with the Airline’s values of community engagement, passengers received Seasons Greeting Packages and Happy Fasting Messages. These tangible tokens reflected their respect for diverse traditions. The packages included a postcard commemorating the anniversary, serving as a reminder of their enduring legacy.
Their mission extends beyond transportation, as emphasized by CCO Lemma Yadecha. “We strive to foster a sense of unity and belongingness among our passengers, regardless of their background or belief. This anniversary is a celebration of unity and diversity. By stepping into the roles of our dedicated ground and flight crew, we honour every individual who has been part of our story. Today’s service is a promise of continued excellence for all our passengers.”
Celebrating its 78th anniversary, Ethiopian Airlines continues to set industry standards with its commitment to innovation, safety, and customer satisfaction. Upholding their mission to bridge Africa with the world, while remaining dedicated to enhancing passenger experience. As evidence of this commitment, they’re considering offering complimentary Wi-Fi to Cairo-bound travellers.
In this remarkable journey, Ethiopian Airlines has doubled its fleet and destinations, becoming Africa’s largest carrier. Their legacy of distinguished servant leadership propels them forward, and they look ahead to many more years of soaring together.
