Regional Air Appoints Evelyn Chesimet As Commercial Manager, Sets Sights On Regional Growth

New Commercial Leadership Strengthens Partnerships, Market Opportunities And East Africa’s Safari Connectivity

Based in Arusha, Regional Air plays an important role in connecting travellers with some of Tanzania’s leading safari destinations. The airline operates connectivity to key destinations across the Serengeti ecosystem, including Seronera, Kogatende, Lobo, Lamai, Kuro, Fort Ikoma, Ndutu, Manyara, Grumeti, Sasakwa and Tarime, alongside services to Zanzibar.

In her new role, Chesimet will focus on strengthening Regional Air’s commercial partnerships while identifying opportunities to expand the airline’s market presence. Her appointment comes at a time when seamless regional connectivity remains increasingly important to East Africa’s tourism and safari sector.

Chesimet brings experience in sales, market research and client servicing, with her professional background also including experience at AirKenya. Her commercial focus is expected to support Regional Air’s efforts to deepen relationships across the travel trade and build new opportunities within its growing network.

Regional Air operates as part of the wider AirKenya aviation network, alongside AeroLink Uganda. The three airlines provide an integrated connection across Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, linking major tourism hubs with some of East Africa’s most sought-after safari destinations. AirKenya describes its sister-airline network as a gateway to travel across the region.

The group’s shared fleet is also designed for the realities of safari aviation, with aircraft capable of operating from short and remote bush airstrips. This capability supports connectivity to destinations that are often difficult to reach by conventional air transport.

For Regional Air, Chesimet’s appointment signals a continued emphasis on commercial development, partnerships and regional connectivity.
