No Shave November.
In 2009, a family of eight siblings initiated the No Shave November Charity Foundation in Chicago in honour of their dad who succumbed to colon cancer in November 2007.
Years later, the movement has evolved in a trending topic not only in the United States but also in other parts of the continent.
No Shave November is an awareness drive for men all over the world to drop their razors for the entire month of November to grow out their facial hair. The main purpose of No Shave November campaign is for men to embrace their hair that most cancer patients lose while undergoing chemotherapy. The implication is that the money spent on monthly hair maintenance is donated to No Shave November charities i.e., cancer-related centres all over the world so that it can be used to create awareness of prostate cancer, save lives and help those who are battling with this type of cancer as well as other kinds. Nevertheless, the movement is starting to lose its significance as more and more men battle against who can outgrow the best longest beard forgetting the real meaning behind it.
