The Spotlight Travel Expo, held at Sarova Panafric on July 17-18, 2024, was nothing short of spectacular! This event solidified its reputation as Nairobi’s top travel trade gathering, drawing a vibrant crowd from across Africa’s tourism scene.

Sarova Panafric was the perfect backdrop, offering an unforgettable experience in Nairobi’s bustling heart. With 35-40 exhibitors from all corners of Africa, attendees enjoyed an electrifying display of outbound adventures, regional escapades, and Kenya’s stunning domestic destinations.

Kenya’s position as a powerhouse in sub-Saharan Africa’s outbound market shone brightly at the expo. Nairobi, the gateway to East Africa, links over 135 million people in the COMESA region, boasting a wealthy demographic with numerous US Dollar millionaires, fueling a booming luxury travel market. Kenya Airways’ expanded network and increased flight frequencies to key African destinations have made Nairobi a hub of unrivaled connectivity. Additionally, as Africa’s UN headquarters, Nairobi’s diplomatic presence amplified the expo’s allure for both business and leisure travel.

Participants included Kenyan resorts, East African hotels, safari lodges, destination management companies (DMCs), airlines, and tourism stakeholders. The event attracted a wide array of Kenyan corporate and leisure travel agents, outbound tour operators, conference organizers, corporate travel managers, and government agencies, ensuring rich networking and dynamic engagement opportunities.

With two vibrant sessions each day, accommodating 175 attendees, the expo hosted 350 to 450 industry professionals. This setup maximized business interactions, making every moment a golden opportunity.
