Magical Kenya Travel Expo 2025, Showcasing Africa’s Future On The World Tourism Map
From October 1st to 3rd, 2025, Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi transformed into a global meeting point for the travel and tourism industry as the Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE) 2025 came to life. Across three high-energy days, the expo welcomed tourism boards, travel professionals, innovators, and cultural ambassadors from every corner of the world. With a strong focus on reimagining travel and advancing sustainable tourism in Africa, MKTE 2025 blended knowledge-sharing, creativity, and cultural expression into an experience that inspired all who attended.

The official opening ceremony on October 2nd marked a significant milestone for Kenya’s tourism landscape. Deputy President H.E. Prof. Kithure Kindiki presided over the occasion as Guest of Honour, alongside Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary H.E. Hon. Rebecca Miano and Principal Secretary for Tourism H.E. Hon. John Ololtuaa. Their participation reflected the government’s firm commitment to elevating Kenya’s global tourism profile. The presence of ambassadors, diplomats, and international tourism stakeholders further reinforced MKTE’s role as a key platform for global collaboration.

Inside the bustling exhibition spaces, the energy was unmistakable. Renowned hospitality brands including Sarova Hotels, Fairmont Kenya, Serena Hotels, Elewana Collection, Basecamp Explorer, and Gamewatchers Safaris showcased immersive travel experiences that celebrated Kenya’s natural beauty and cultural depth. Airlines and international tourism boards introduced modern travel technologies, eco-conscious initiatives, and innovative destination marketing strategies, underscoring Kenya’s position as a major gateway to Africa.

Collaboration remained at the heart of MKTE 2025’s success. The expo, jointly organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, Magical Kenya, and the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB), was supported by leading airline partners such as Kenya Airways, Jambojet, Qatar Airways, AirKenya, and Lufthansa. Esteemed corporate sponsors including Nation Media Group, KCB, VISA, NCBA, ICEA Lion, Hanspaul Group, Go Places, Novotel, and The Panari Hotel added significant value, while partners like the Museum of Illusions and the Kenya Wildlife Service brought authentic Kenyan creativity and conservation storytelling to the forefront.

Beyond trade and networking, MKTE 2025 offered a rich cultural showcase that captured the heart of Kenya. Guests were treated to vibrant traditional dances, captivating live performances, and artistic displays that reflected the country’s heritage and diversity. These cultural moments fostered connection, pride, and a deeper appreciation of Kenya’s identity, leaving international delegates with lasting impressions of Kenyan hospitality.

Throughout the three-day event, Go Places Media delivered live coverage, highlighting key moments, panel discussions, interviews, and on-ground experiences. As MKTE 2025 came to a close, participants departed with fresh perspectives, meaningful partnerships, and renewed optimism about Kenya’s leadership role in shaping the future of African and global tourism.
