Tourism Takes Center Stage, MKTE 2025 Unites The World In Nairobi
From October 1st to 3rd, the iconic Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi played host to the Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE) 2025, a landmark event that brought together a vibrant mix of global tourism professionals, government officials, industry leaders, and exhibitors. Celebrated as East Africa’s premier travel trade showcase, this year’s edition reaffirmed Kenya’s position as a top-tier destination while fostering meaningful business connections, innovation, and sustainable tourism strategies.

The official opening ceremony on October 2nd was a distinguished affair, graced by Deputy President H.E. Prof. Kithure Kindiki as the Guest of Honor. He was joined by Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife, H.E. Hon. Rebecca Miano, and Principal Secretary for Tourism, H.E. Hon. John Ololtuaa, alongside ambassadors, dignitaries, and tourism board delegates from across the globe. Their presence underscored MKTE’s vital role in shaping Kenya’s global tourism narrative.

This year’s expo featured a dynamic lineup of exhibitors from both local and international sectors of travel and hospitality. Attendees explored offerings from renowned brands such as Sarova Hotels, Fairmont Kenya, Elewana Collection, Basecamp Explorer, and Gamewatchers Safaris. International tourism boards and major airlines also showcased their latest innovations, highlighting global travel trends and encouraging cross-border partnerships.

The event’s success was made possible through the support of key sponsors and collaborators. These included the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, Magical Kenya, and the Kenya Tourism Board, along with aviation partners like Kenya Airways, Jambojet, Qatar Airways, AirKenya, and Lufthansa. Corporate sponsors such as Nation Media Group, Hanspaul Group, KCB, VISA, NCBA, ICEA Lion, Go Places, Novotel, and The Panari Hotel added prestige and reach to the expo. Cultural institutions like the Museum of Illusions and the Kenya Wildlife Service enriched the experience by showcasing Kenya’s heritage and conservation efforts.

Adding rhythm and color to the event were captivating performances by East African artists. Traditional dances, contemporary music, and cultural showcases brought the region’s creative spirit to life, reinforcing the role of culture in sustainable tourism and heritage preservation.

Throughout the three-day event, Go Places Media delivered comprehensive coverage through live streams, interviews, and real-time updates, ensuring MKTE 2025 reached audiences far and wide. As the curtains closed, participants departed energized and optimistic, having built new partnerships and celebrated Kenya’s growing stature as a global tourism powerhouse.
