The 14th edition of the Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE) 2024 concluded with a resounding success at the iconic Uhuru Gardens. Held under the theme “Explore, Connect, Celebrate: Welcome Home!”, the event attracted over 4,000 delegates and 180 international buyers, showcasing Kenya as a premier global travel destination. The expo was a dynamic blend of business networking, cultural showcases, and tourism innovations that reaffirmed Kenya’s place on the world stage.

Among the key moments was President William Ruto’s announcement of groundbreaking initiatives, including the Digital Nomad Work Permit and the Transit and Long Connection Travellers ETA, aimed at boosting Kenya’s appeal for global professionals and long-haul travelers. His ambitious goal to welcome over 5 million visitors annually by 2027 set the tone for Kenya’s future in tourism. Awards were also a highlight, with Kenya Airways earning the prestigious Platinum Award for aviation excellence, and Go Places and Sarova Hotels receiving Gold Awards for their leadership in the industry.

Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano emphasized innovation and collaboration to drive the industry forward, while Kenya Tourism Board CEO June Chepkemei spotlighted Kenya’s emergence as a premier MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events) destination.
