On the enchanting evening of August 19th, the spotlight shifted to the Broadwalk Mall, setting the stage for a night of splendour and grace as the grand finale of Miss & Mrs. India Kenya 2023 unfolded. Following the enthralling talent night at Bao Box on August 17th, anticipation was high for an event that seamlessly merged elegance, empowerment, and celebration.

The driving force behind this prestigious event, Eventique, has been a beacon of Indian culture and empowerment since 2016, hosting the esteemed Miss India Kenya pageant. Building on their legacy, they introduced the Mrs. India Kenya category in 2021, broadening the platform to embrace the remarkable journeys of married women.

This year’s pageant boasted an impressive array of finalists, with 9 exceptional women vying for the title in the Mrs. category, and 11 outstanding candidates contending in the Miss category. The responsibility of selecting the victors fell upon a distinguished panel of judges, including luminaries such as Pranav Pancholi, Susan Kaittany, Lolita Kozyreva, Ahmed Hafez, Farah Esmail, and Farouk Jannedy.

Leading the evening were the dynamic emcees, Angela Muiruri and Jamil Alibhai. Their charismatic presence guided the audience through every moment, from the introduction of the inspiring contenders to the intense top 5 question and answer session that showcased their wit and wisdom.

The climactic crowning moments encapsulated the essence of the evening. Soumya Uppal was crowned Miss India Kenya 2023, while Ushma Khetia Samani earned the coveted title of Mrs. India Kenya 2023. These extraordinary women not only symbolized beauty and grace but also the strength of character that defines true empowerment.

Beyond the glamour, the event’s significance extended into the realm of social responsibility. Eventique and the newly crowned queens pledged their support to Women4Cancer and Hawkers Market Girls Centre, spotlighting the event’s commitment to social change.

Aliza Rajan, the visionary founder of this remarkable event, took the stage to deliver a heartfelt speech. Addressing the esteemed guests, participants, and partners, Aliza expressed her gratitude for the collective support that brought the First joint Miss and Mrs. India Worldwide Kenya 2023 Gala Night to life. She acknowledged the incredible journey undertaken by the contestants, highlighting the bonds forged among women of different ages and backgrounds, united by their dedication. Aliza’s words resonated with the essence of the pageant – empowerment, camaraderie, and personal growth. Moreover, Aliza Rajan, the visionary Director of Eventique, unveiled the Aliza Rajan Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization dedicated to empowering women in rural Kenya through the acquisition of essential entrepreneurial skills. This initiative resonates deeply with the pageant’s ethos of fostering empowerment and creating avenues for sustainable progress.

As the curtain drew on the Miss & Mrs. India Kenya 2023 Grand Finale, it marked not just the conclusion of an event but the beginning of a new chapter for the titleholders. Soumya Uppal and Ushma Khetia Samani are now poised to represent Kenya on the global stage at The Miss India Worldwide 2024, a prestigious event produced by the IFC, a pioneer in Indian pageants and fashion shows worldwide.
