It’s Time To Get Cooking In Seychelles
This week we bring you how to get cooking in Seychelles. Bookings are open for Creole Travel Service’s ‘Cap Lazare Outdoor Cooking Class’ which returned as one of the company’s exclusive experiences as of January 2022.
The taste of creole cuisine is one of the many good memories visitors take back home from Seychelles. The opportunity to learn about the various spices, ingredients, and how to prepare a Seychellois creole dish to savour once they are back home, will soon be back as Creole Travel Service (CTS) resumes their ‘Cap Lazare Outdoor Cooking Class’.
Launched four years ago by CTS, guests once again will be able to enjoy this exclusive cooking class, made available as an exclusive guest experience at its Cap Lazare Nature Reserve located on the wild southwestern coast of Mahé. Available for only 2 persons or one family per day, the experience is a definite add-on to your itinerary when coming to Seychelles.
The fun-filled day includes the opportunity to accompany the Chef to Victoria’s colourful Sir Selwyn Selwyn Clarke Market, shopping for ingredients and interacting with the Seychellois while getting a first-hand explanation of the various fresh ingredients that they will be using in the meal preparation of their meal. Visitors are given the time to explore the colourful stalls displaying a wide variety of exotic spices, tropical fruits, and vegetables as well as freshly-caught fish. Once all ingredients are in the bag, guests take a scenic drive to their destination where their private creole cooking class will begin.
An enchanting hideaway, the Cap Lazare Nature Reserve is home to a hydroponic farm, providing fresh fruits and vegetables directly to the kitchen. Its other attractions include a Giant Tortoise colony, “Simone’s Lookout” viewpoint, private access to a white sandy beach, its own helipad, as well as a nature trail.
In cooking class presided by their personal Chef over, clients get to indulge in the lunch they prepared under a VIP Kiosk at the reserve. The cooking class will be held daily, except on Sundays.
