From Industry Giants To Young Trailblazers, Kenya’s Digital Excellence Was On Full Display

Kenya’s digital ecosystem took centre stage as Go Gaga Experiential successfully hosted the 9th edition of the Digital Media Festival & Awards Show (DMA) 2025, a prestigious celebration of innovation, creativity, and excellence in the country’s fast-evolving digital landscape .

Set against the lush and elegant grounds of The Tamarind Hotel on Langata Road, the awards ceremony brought together leading agency teams, creative trailblazers, brand custodians, publishers, and young innovators, all united by a shared mission—to push the boundaries of digital storytelling and impactful communication.

This year’s DMA spotlighted outstanding campaigns across a wide range of categories, including Agency, Digital, Content, Publisher, Youth, and Special Categories. From bold brand narratives to data-driven campaigns and experiential activations, the awards celebrated ideas that not only captured attention but also delivered measurable impact within Kenya’s digital space .

Tandem Network emerged as the night’s biggest winner, clinching the coveted Agency of the Year title alongside four additional awards. Their powerful “Sky Fest” campaign, aimed at empowering women and girls, secured Most Impactful Campaign of the Year, further earning recognition for Media Innovation, Experiential Campaign, and Best Youth-Driven Campaign. The agency’s creative leadership was also widely acknowledged, with Bharat Tavares named Creative Director of the Year, Robert Kizito winning Copy Writer of the Year, and Kelvin Kaesa crowned Art Director of the Year .

Individual excellence shone brightly across the board. Denis Kajura received Graphic Designer of the Year, Colin Asiimwe was recognised as Marketing Leader of the Year, while Dorothy Kirabo claimed the Strategist of the Year accolade. GOtv was honoured as Brand of the Year, applauded for its compelling digital engagement and strong audience connection .

Other standout winners included Dentsu Creative Kenya, whose festive “Stitched With Cheer” campaign for Tusker Lager took home Campaign of the Year. The Bar Africa was celebrated for its innovative Brand Identity Systems and Design for Workables’ Typespace, while Nuvita Biscuits gained recognition for its influencer-led “Nuvita Presents NoVita” campaign .

Championing the Next Generation of Creators

The Youth–Young Creative Awards highlighted Kenya’s rising creative stars, reinforcing DMA’s commitment to nurturing future industry leaders. Michael Muraya was named Best Young Copywriter, Allan Kioko took Best Young Content Creator, Neemo Mungai won Best Independent Young Creative, Faith Mwangi was crowned Best Young Innovator, and Gichimu Ikuá earned Best Young Art Director .

In partnership with Eskimi, additional honours recognised performance-driven excellence. Diageo received the Eskimi Creative Excellence Award, Uber Eats was awarded Best Engagement Campaign, while KCB Group triumphed with Best Performing Traffic Campaign—a testament to the power of strategic digital execution .

Speaking at the event, Levis Ryan, Digital Marketing Manager – Corporate Marketing Group at Samsung Electronics, reaffirmed the importance of recognising industry excellence, noting that the awards play a vital role in nurturing the talent shaping Kenya’s digital future. Co-Founder of Go Gaga Experiential, Muthoni Gitobu, echoed this sentiment, describing the 9th DMA as an inspiring reflection of the creativity, growth, and innovation thriving within the industry .

Beyond accolades, the Digital Media Festival & Awards Show 2025 reinforced the critical role of digital media in shaping culture, driving meaningful conversations, and connecting communities across borders. As Kenya’s digital narrative continues to evolve, DMA remains a powerful platform where fearless ideas, bold storytelling, and world-class standards converge.
