World Cup Live 2022 Final Match At Qatar Embassy
The graceful Qatar National Day this year was celebrated on Sunday 18th December at the Movenpick Hotel & Residences Nairobi. The Qatar Embassy in Kenya together with Qatar Airways holds this event each year and brings together VIP guests that include ambassadors, diplomates, corporates and partners associated with the embassy and the airline.
The year’s celebration slogan was, ‘Our Unity Is The Source Of Our Strength,’ which embodies the approach of the Qatari people based on solidarity, cohesion, and collaboration in facing challenges and achieving goals. The event coincided with the finals of the Fifa World Cup 2022 that were being played in Qatar between France and Argentina.
Qatar’s Ambassador, Jabor Bin Ali Al-Dosari, in his opening welcome emphasized the major achievements by the State of Qatar in the political, diplomatic, economic, sports, health, educational and other fields that reflect the cohesion between the wise leadership and the loyal people and paint a bright picture of the future of the State of Qatar under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani – Emir of the Country
This year’s celebration also acquired special importance as it coincided with the end of the State of Qatar’s hosting of the FIFA World Cup “Qatar 2022”. The two events constituted an opportunity to highlight the unity and culture of the people of Qatar. He said that the visitors have learned about the bright aspects of the history, culture, traditions and pride of the State of Qatar in its Arabic and Islamic values.The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, has demonstrated the civilized identity of the State of Qatar, in addition to its economic, security and administrative capabilities and its clear achievements in all fields. He thanked all for the support and praise from all parts of the world who had provided support through their experience and the participation of workers, especially Kenya who provided the workers, security personnel and volunteers who contributed to this great event and expressions of encouragement and support from the government of His Excellency President Dr. William Samoei Ruto, and he affirmed that this experience was an investment in the good of humanity, and belonged to all. We further thanked the chief guest the Hon. Cabinet Secretary for Defense Mr. Aden Barre Duale, for his participation, confirming his interest and the interest of the Kenyan government in strengthening the relations with the State of Qatar. The national anthems of Qatar and Kenya were presented by students from Regis School Runda and there was a traditional cake-cutting ceremony. Guests were treated to a wide spread of traditional Qatari cuisine during dinner.
After dinner guests stayed on to watch the Fifa World Cup closing ceremony and finals of the match on a large screen. There was a lot of excitement as supporters from both sides cheered for their team. The match ended with a nail-biting penalty shootout which saw Argentina take the cup from the reigning French team.
