Nairobi, 14th July – The night was aglow with excitement and anticipation as Indigo Airlines, one of the youngest and fastest-growing airlines, marked a historic milestone – its entry into the African subcontinent. Hosted at the elegant Radisson Blu Hotels, Nairobi Upper Hill, the network evening witnessed a gathering of distinguished guests, industrial professionals, and esteemed partners, all of whom were eager to celebrate this momentous occasion.

As the event commenced, Mr. Vishen Khanna, Head of Sales – International Markets, took the stage and set the tone for the evening. He eloquently introduced Indigo Airlines, shedding light on its incredible journey and growth. Highlighting the airline’s core values of punctuality and consistency in adhering to scheduled flights, Mr. Khanna reassured the audience that Indigo Airlines remained devoted to offering seamless travel experiences to its customers. Among the esteemed guests was the chief guest, HE Rohit Vanhwana, Deputy High Commissioner of India & DPR to UNEP & UN-Habitat. His presence added a touch of prestige to the event, as he expressed his delight at Indigo Airlines’ new routes, specifically the daily return flights from Nairobi to India. Recognizing the growing synergy between India and Kenya in trade, investment, and people-to-people exchanges, Mr. Vanhwana applauded the airline’s efforts in further enhancing economic ties through improved connectivity. The new air route will undoubtedly foster increased trade and tourism between the two nations, promoting growth and prosperity.

Agnes Mucuha, CEO of the Kenya Association of Travel Agents (KATA), took the stage and exuded enthusiasm for the upcoming launch of Indigo Airlines’ flights from 5th August. She wholeheartedly pledged the association’s support and lauded the airline’s commitment to expanding connectivity options, a boon for travelers and the tourism industry alike.

The event was graced by various international representatives, including Ashok Kumar, Associate Director – International Sales, and Kenya representatives Mustafa Ozkahraman, Country Manager, Mazahir Mohamed Ali, Sales Manager – Kenya, Capt Aslam Khan, Director of Skyline Rep Services Ltd, and Shakeel Khan, CEO of ALS Limited, among others.
