Middle East And African Hotel Chains Top The World In AI Confidence, Investment, And Integration

Africa’s hospitality industry is making history. A new global study commissioned by Profitroom, a world-leading hotel technology provider, reveals that African and Middle Eastern hotel chains are outpacing the world in adopting Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions, reshaping the future of guest experience, digital marketing, and hotel operations across the continent.

Africa Outshines the World in AI Integration

According to the report conducted by h2c, 57% of hotel businesses in the Middle East and Africa have already integrated AI-driven features into their operations, surpassing Europe, the Americas, and Asia-Pacific, and well above the global average of 35%. This milestone proves that Africa is no longer a follower in tech innovation; it’s a leader driving the next wave of hospitality transformation.

“African hotels are demonstrating remarkable leadership in turning AI potential into business reality,” said Katarzyna Raiter-Łuksza, Director of Product at Profitroom. “What’s striking is not just the adoption rate, but the confidence African hoteliers have in this technology compared to their global counterparts.”

Investment, Trust, and Confidence in AI Soar

The study shows that African and Middle Eastern hoteliers are backing their AI ambitions with tangible investments. These businesses are allocating dedicated AI budgets and reporting the highest levels of trust in AI worldwide.

  • AI Trust Score: 7.1/10 – higher than the global average of 6.6
  • Comfort with AI Pricing: 7.2/10 – well above the Americas at 6.2
  • Fewer Guest Experience Concerns: Only 35% expressed worries about AI affecting personalization, compared to a global 50%

Even more impressively, 59% of MEA hotel chains expect full digital marketing automation by 2030, compared to just 37% in Europe, proving that the region’s hotel sector is both bold and forward-thinking.

Data Silos: The Next Barrier to Break

However, the study warns of one critical challenge: data fragmentation. Nearly half (47%) of MEA hotel chains say departmental data silos are hindering AI adoption, despite having the world’s strongest appetite for AI-powered business intelligence.

As Raiter-Łuksza notes, “African hotels have leapfrogged their competitors in embracing AI but must now focus on breaking down internal data barriers. The next frontier is creating unified data strategies that ensure consistent guest experiences and measurable results.”
