From Vision To Reality, FHS Africa 2026 Showcases Africa’s Hospitality Future
The Future Hospitality Summit Africa 2026 (FHS Africa) was a landmark gathering held on 31st March – 1st April 2026 at the Radisson Blu Upperhill Nairobi, preceded by a vibrant welcome reception at Kofisi Kaskazi on 30th March. This reception brought together delegates, investors, and hospitality leaders, setting the stage for two days of impactful discussions, networking, and announcements that would shape the future of hospitality across Africa.

The summit officially opened with a ceremony led by Mr. David Gitonga, Tourism Secretary of the Republic of Kenya, whose address highlighted Kenya’s role as a hub for tourism innovation and investment. Following the opening, attendees engaged in a series of panel discussions and presentations covering topics such as sustainable tourism, digital transformation, investment strategies, and the evolving landscape of African hospitality.

One of the most significant highlights was the signing of a master agreement between The First Group Hospitality and MIDROC Investment Group. This partnership will see the development and operation of 10 properties across Ethiopia, marking a major expansion of internationally branded hospitality assets in East Africa. The signing was conducted on stage by David Thomson, Senior Vice President – Development of The First Group Hospitality, and Solomon Zewdu Damtie, Deputy CEO of MIDROC Investment Group – Hospitality Cluster, in front of an audience of global investors and hospitality leaders.

The summit also celebrated leadership excellence with the FHS Africa Award for Leadership, presented to Vimbai Masiyiwa, Co-Founder & CEO of Batoka Africa. The award was handed over by Peter Greenberg, Travel Editor at CBS News, and Matthew Weihs, Commercial Director at The Bench, recognizing Masiyiwa’s outstanding contribution to advancing tourism and hospitality across the continent. This moment underscored the importance of visionary leadership in shaping Africa’s hospitality future.

Delegates were treated to an elegant official gala dinner hosted by Westmont Hospitality Group at Radisson Blu Upperhill Nairobi, which provided a fitting conclusion to the summit. The evening was filled with celebration, networking, and reflection on the milestones achieved during the event, reinforcing the collaborative spirit that defined FHS Africa 2026.
