Go Places Participates In Landmark Lake Nakuru Activation To Boost Conservation And Tourism

A Powerful Activation Uniting Stakeholders To Promote Sustainability And Destination Nakuru

8th May 2025 | Lake Nakuru National Park

Go Places proudly joined key tourism and conservation stakeholders at the Lake Nakuru Activation event, an impactful and immersive initiative aimed at promoting sustainable tourism, conservation awareness, and community empowerment.Organized by the Nakuru County Government in partnership with the Nakuru County Tourism Association (NCTA) and the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), the event was themed “Experience the Wonder, Support Conservation, Empower Communities.” It brought together a vibrant mix of tour operators, content creators, public officials, and conservation advocates, all united by a shared vision: to spotlight Nakuru as a model destination for eco-tourism and environmental stewardship. The day began with a flag-off at the park’s main gate, launching participants into a scenic game drive through Lake Nakuru National Park. The park’s rich biodiversity, highlighted by sightings of endangered white and black rhinos, flamingos, buffaloes, giraffes, and an array of birdlife, offered an awe-inspiring firsthand experience of Kenya’s living natural heritage. The event’s centerpiece unfolded at the Makalia Falls Picnic Site, where the sound of cascading water provided an idyllic backdrop for networking and engagement. Participants enjoyed a scenic lunch and took part in storytelling sessions, sustainability dialogues, and spotlight segments featuring local entrepreneurs and conservation champions. Influencers and media teams were actively engaged in real-time content creation, further amplifying the event’s reach and impact.Government officials reiterated their commitment to positioning Nakuru as a leading eco-tourism and cultural destination, while NCTA Chair David Mwangi emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in strengthening the tourism value chain. KWS representatives provided key updates on ongoing conservation efforts and wildlife protection initiatives. As both a media house and Destination Management Company (DMC), Go Places actively captured and promoted the essence of the event, producing stunning wildlife photography, videography and stakeholder interviews that were shared live across our digital platforms. Our goal remains clear: to tell the story of Lake Nakuru and its significance, and to inspire travel that supports conservation and community development. As we drove out of the park, one thing was certain, this experience reaffirmed our mission: to amplify Kenya’s tourism potential, one destination at a time.
