Go Places takes this opportunity to congratulate Dr. Alfred N. Mutua on his appointment to the office of Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife.
Dr.Mutua obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Whitworth College and later proceeded to get his Master of Science in Communication from Eastern Washington University. He received his doctorate in communication and media from the University of Western Sydney in Australia.
Mutua was appointed the first official government spokesperson of Kenya in June 2022 under the late President Mwai Kibaki where he served in that capacity until September 3, 2012.
He was also the public communications secretary and head of the office of public communications in the office of the President.
After this, He was sworn in as the first Governor of Machakos County under the devolved government in 2013. He served in that capacity until 2022 when he was appointed the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign & Diaspora Affairs.
