Gift Ideas And Inspirations For Kids Under 5 Years
We often know what to gift our partners, our parents, or our friends. However, children have gifts that could tickle their fancy too. Toddlers are very expressive although they may even not be able to utter words properly. There are ways you know what your toddler truly loves and appreciates. However, they sometimes do not know what they truly want. It’s important to notice what is always in their mouths.
- Color: A toddler that is currently learning how to speak and different items, always has a color that he keeps talking about. For instance, a toddler could notice a certain color every time they watch television, or listen to a recorded song about colors. Every time you allow them to mention the colors they know; they are probably going to be consistent with one color. Choose a gift that is of that color, because it connects more with them and it is more exciting.
- Shape: It’s surprising that toddlers master one shape at a time. Depending on what shape is first introduced to them. Buying them a gift in their favorite shape would mean a lot to them. It could be a shape of a car they like, a shape of a toy that they like, or it could be a dotted dress, a pair of shorts or trousers with their favorite pattern, this would make them more attached to your gift and connect more with you.
- More excitement, less attachment: It is easier to gift toddlers according to what they see every day, what they hear every day, and what they touch every day. This could also mean something, however, the age between months to 5 years old, is an age where they want to learn about new things, they want to see something different which most times are exciting. It works more to introduce something new that will get them to be curious and excited than it does with what we adults think they have been attached to. It is advisable to break the monotony of buying the same gift every time.
- Favorite animal: Toddlers do have favorites no matter how young their mind is. Toddlers have created imaginary friendships with the animals they like. It could be they love their shape, size, feathers or fur, how they sound, or even their color. It is important to give an animal gift gradually, that is, you could start with a stuffed animal, and later give a gift of that animal as a gift (If it is possible). However, for wild animals, you could take your toddler to a game reserve, or national park to meet their favorite ‘friend’. For imaginary animals, which could be from their favorite animation, it is much better to stick to stuffed animals.
