The Jordanian Experience, A Journey To Remember- Day 3
Mount Nebo/Madaba
On the third day of my trip to Jordan, we had a packed schedule that took us to some of the most iconic sites in the country. Our first stop was Mount Nebo, a historic site that holds immense significance for Christians around the world. It is believed to be the place where Moses was granted a view of the Promised Land and also the place where he was buried.
The view from the top of the mountain was breathtaking, and I spent some time admiring the panoramic view of the surrounding area.
From there, we made our way to the town of Madaba, which is famous for its mosaics. We visited the Church of St. George, where we saw the famous mosaic map of the Holy Land.
River Jordan/Baptism Site Museum
The most memorable part of our day was undoubtedly the visit to the Baptism Site Museum and the river where Jesus was baptized. The museum’s fascinating exhibits were a real highlight, with their stunning and original designs capturing our attention and imagination.
This is a sacred site for Christians, and it was an incredibly humbling experience to stand in the same place where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. We spent some time taking in the spiritual energy of the place, and some of us even took a dip in the waters of the Jordan River.
Haret Jdoudna
We headed to Haret Jdoudna Restaurant for a delicious meal. The restaurant was a beautiful traditional house with a lovely atmosphere, and the food was fantastic. We had a great time sampling some of the local delicacies and enjoying the Jordanian hospitality.
The restaurant is popular with locals and discerning diners from Amman, and set in a restored Ottoman house, this restaurant is always worth a visit.
The Dead Sea
We made our way to the Dead Sea. The Dead Sea is one of the most unique places on earth, and it was amazing to float effortlessly on the salty water. We spent some time enjoying the therapeutic mud and mineral-rich waters of the Dead Sea. We spent the night at a resort overlooking the sea. It was a peaceful and serene experience, and we all enjoyed a good night’s sleep after an eventful day of sightseeing. Overall, it was a day filled with incredible experiences and unforgettable memories.
Look forward to next week’s article where we shall talk about more experiences of day 4 in Jordan.
