Naivasha, Kenya – March 20, 2025 – The 2025 World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally has kicked off in Naivasha, drawing thousands of motorsport fans from across the East African Community (EAC) region. Spectators from Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and beyond have traveled to Kenya to witness the adrenaline-pumping action on challenging rally stages. The rally has become a major tourism attraction, showcasing Kenya’s world-renowned hospitality and scenic landscapes. With over 120 million viewers tuning in from 70 countries, the event continues to elevate Kenya’s status as a top global motorsport destination.The influx of rally fans has significantly boosted Kenya’s tourism and hospitality industries. According to the 2024 Tourism Performance Report, Uganda and Tanzania ranked among Kenya’s top five source markets, contributing over 400,000 visitors. This year’s rally has further strengthened regional tourism integration, with branded buses transporting fans across borders and hotels in Naivasha reporting full bookings. The increased demand for accommodation has led to further investments in the hospitality sector, ensuring visitors have access to world-class facilities.

Beyond the rally, fans are eager to explore Kenya’s diverse attractions. Many plan to visit iconic wildlife parks, picturesque mountains, and coastal destinations such as Mombasa. “I absolutely love the way Kenya organizes the rally stages, and I can’t wait to experience more of its beauty,” said Henry Kimbugwe, a Ugandan rally enthusiast. Others, like Tanzanian fan David Matete, expressed excitement about Kenya’s warm hospitality and vibrant atmosphere. “The energy here is amazing, and the people are incredibly welcoming,” he added.
