The event commenced on 4th June with an exclusive B2B Networking and Media Day, designed to foster meaningful business engagement between exhibitors and international buyers. Carefully coordinated business meetings enabled delegates to discuss destination marketing strategies, forge new commercial partnerships, expand regional tourism cooperation, and identify emerging opportunities across global travel markets. The day concluded with the elegant Buyers Welcome Reception and Briefing at Gran Meliá Arusha, where participants connected in a relaxed atmosphere that encouraged relationship-building and set an optimistic tone for the days ahead.

On 5th June, Tanzania Day took centre stage, offering delegates an immersive celebration of the country’s rich cultural heritage, breathtaking attractions, and renowned hospitality. The official opening ceremony featured distinguished leaders including Hon. Dr. Thereza Mugobi, Hon. MP Paul Makonda, Hon. CPA Amos Gabriel Makalla, Dr. Willy Chambulo, together with KILIFAIR Directors Tom Kunkler and Dominic Shoo, who officially inaugurated the exhibition. Across the exhibition grounds, Uganda’s vibrant traditions came alive through captivating cultural performances, artistic showcases, and destination experiences that celebrated the country’s unique tourism offerings. The day concluded with the lively Sounds of Kili Music Night, where music, entertainment, and cultural celebration brought delegates together in a memorable display of East Africa’s shared tourism spirit.

The final day, 7th June, was dedicated to Zanzibar Day, showcasing the island’s enchanting blend of pristine beaches, rich Swahili heritage, historic landmarks, and exceptional hospitality. Visitors explored engaging destination presentations highlighting the beauty of Stone Town, Zanzibar’s coastal charm, cultural traditions, and world-class visitor experiences. Through immersive exhibitions, live performances, and interactive displays, delegates gained a deeper appreciation for the island’s unique appeal. As the exhibition drew to a close, KARIBU–KILIFAIR 2026 reinforced a powerful message of regional unity, sustainable tourism development, and the importance of partnerships in driving the continued growth of East Africa’s travel industry.
