IFTEX 2025 Ushers In A New Era Of Flower Trade Excellence in Kenya
The International Flower Trade Expo (IFTEX) 2025 took place from June 3rd to 5th at the Visa Oshwal Centre in Nairobi, Kenya, drawing global attention to Africa’s thriving floriculture sector. Organized by HPP Exhibitions with the strong support of the Kenya Flower Council, the Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS), and the Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA), the event served as a hub for flower growers, exporters, buyers, regulators, and industry partners from across the world. Over the course of three days, the event showcased Kenya’s strategic role in shaping the future of the global flower trade.
The official opening ceremony was held on the morning of June 3rd at the Visa Oshwal Centre Auditorium. The event featured a distinguished panel of keynote speakers including Hon. Mutahi Kagwe, Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development, and Hon. Lee Kinyanjui, Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry. They were joined by Mr. Clement Tulezi, CEO of the Kenya Flower Council; Prof. Theophilus Mutui, Managing Director of KEPHIS; Mr. Bruno Linyiru, Managing Director of the Horticultural Crops Directorate (AFA-HCD); and Mr. Dick Raamsdonk, the founder and organizer of IFTEX. Their remarks underscored the importance of innovation, sustainability, and investment in the floriculture industry.
Throughout the exhibition halls, a vibrant atmosphere prevailed as both local and international exhibitors displayed their products, technologies, and services. Participants included Agrichem Africa Limited, Agriom, Bella Inc. Ltd, Baraka Roses, Beauty Line, Cargolite, DFG, Ever Flora Limited, Fair Trade Africa, Herany Flora, among many others. These companies represented the diverse and dynamic landscape of the flower trade industry, offering everything from new flower varieties to logistics solutions and sustainable farming inputs.
One of the major themes of IFTEX 2025 was sustainability. Kenya’s flower industry has increasingly embraced environmentally responsible production methods, and this year’s expo shone a spotlight on green innovations, carbon footprint reduction, and compliance with international certification standards. Workshops, panel discussions, and networking sessions allowed participants to exchange insights and forge strategic partnerships aimed at future-proofing the flower trade.
As the curtains closed on this year’s IFTEX, the consensus was clear: the 2025 edition was a resounding success. From the high-level engagement during the opening ceremony to the buzzing exhibition stands and fruitful B2B interactions, the event reaffirmed Kenya’s global standing as a leader in floriculture. The moments shared at Oshwal Centre not only celebrated flowers but also the resilience, creativity, and forward-looking vision of an industry that continues to bloom.
