Chef’s Delight Awards organised by International Quality Awards sees Kenya’s Best Chef & Restaurant teams win awards every year based on merit, as graded and judged by the paying customer, and based on customers’ true and honest opinions about their experiences.
The programme intends to create a demand for perfection and creativity as well as improvement in quality, consistency and delivery from fine dining restaurants in Kenya. Kenya has well over 35 different cuisines ranging from local delicacies to international cuisines. This rich food culture should naturally be recognized and appreciated which is a driving force for Chef’s Delight, an undoubtedly stand out programme both nationally and regionally.
To take part in the quality enhancing programme;
- People wine and dine at preferred restaurants nominated in the Chef’s Delight Awards
- Submit a true opinion of their dining experience
Leaving feedback gets someone an entry into a monthly Vote & Win with Chef’s Delight draw where one stands a chance to win a prize. Chef’s Delight participants this year could also see themselves invited for exciting events which include:
- Bar and mixology experience.
- Dessert and high tea experience
- Awards Gala Night ceremony.
Additionally, feedback from customers helps restaurants to improve and provide better service every time. Customers’ feedback helps the restaurants to assess their progress and improve the services they offer on a consistent basis.
Chef’s Delight Awards is close to CEO Mansoor Jiwani’s heart who is a chef by profession and an avid diner too. Having previously won a silver medal representing Kenya, cuisine is a passion of Mr Jiwani as evidenced by the Chef’s delight awards being his brainchild. Together with his colleagues in the industry, Mr Jiwani saw the need to create a quality benchmark in the industry that would help Kenyan chefs & restaurants achieve international status. This would in turn put Kenya on the global map as a leading culinary destination.
Chef’s Delight promises to be a launching pad for the Kenyan Cuisine scene to compete with the best of the best in that world.
As a direct result of the Chef’s Delight Awards, diners will be treated to better fine dining as well as an opportunity to explore many cuisines the region has to offer. The programme recognizes top performers in the wining and dining industry and rewards both chefs and restaurants who offer excellent service and work to further improve Kenya’s image internationally. This year’s programme which will culminate in a gala event is on-going. Wine, dine in a nominated restaurant and have your favorite restaurants getting deserved recognition.
