Glitz, Glamour & Greatness, TAWAA 2025 Celebrates Asian Excellence In Kenya

Nairobi, Kenya – August 30, 2025 – The Asian Weekly Achievers Awards (TAWAA) 2025 unfolded with grandeur at the C.U. Jain Bhavan Auditorium, marking yet another successful edition of the highly anticipated annual celebration. As the only awards ceremony of its kind in East Africa, TAWAA brought together an inspiring mix of Asian community leaders, business tycoons, fashionistas, sports personalities, and entertainers under one roof. The evening was filled with elegance, energy, and celebration, showcasing the spirit of achievement and community unity that defines the Asian diaspora in Kenya and beyond.

The event was emceed by the charismatic trio Alykhan Sorathia, Bhargav Joshi, and Priyanka Chotai, who kept the audience engaged throughout the glamorous evening. This year’s jury panel comprised respected professionals including Ritesh Barot, Meera Pandit, Dr Aruna Varsani, Abhijeet Gupta, Abhishek Rana, Darshan Chandaria, and Desiree Gomes. Their oversight ensured a fair and transparent public voting process, ultimately recognising the most deserving individuals and groups across 25 categories.

Notably, two categories introduced in 2024—Special Appreciation and Power Woman—were retained, solidifying their place in the TAWAA legacy. These awards go beyond traditional recognition, spotlighting outstanding philanthropic and societal contributions made by individuals and organisations. This year’s Special Appreciation Awardees were: Hindu Council of Kenya (HCK), receiving the honour for the second consecutive year; University Students Hindu Association (USHA); Professor Surindar Mohan Uppal; Himath Singh Gahir; and Dr Chandu Sheth. Their efforts continue to uplift and inspire the community across various fields.

The Power Woman Award, aimed at celebrating women who have made a remarkable impact, honoured three phenomenal figures in 2025: Mina Khagram, Dr Shaina Shah, and Aruna Chandaria. These women were recognised not only for their professional achievements but also for their commitment to leadership, community empowerment, and excellence in their respective fields. Their stories serve as a beacon of inspiration for the next generation of women leaders.
