Air France
Nairobi, March 22nd , 2019…. Air France customers flying out of Nairobi to Europe and North America will enjoy 30% off their fares thanks to the airlines’ latest promotion to reward its clients as part of its first anniversary celebrations.
The campaign comes hot on the heels of Air France’s recent announcement to launch two additional weekly flights to Nairobi beginning April 1. The move will see the airline operate five weekly flights in total with plans to soon start a daily operation. The 30% off discount, which is styled as a flash sale is set to coincide with the company’s first birthday since its return to Kenya and is slated to take place on March 26th 2019.
The increased flights between Charles de Gaulle Airport and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is part of the airline’s strategy to expand its African network. Air France last year resumed flights to Nairobi after an eighteen-year hiatus. This month marks its first 1st anniversary since resuming the route.
“We will be increasing our flights on the Paris-Nairobi route to five flights a week. We further plan to launch daily flights in 2020. This is part of our strategic re-positioning in the African market,” said Mr. Arthur Dieffenthaler, Air France General Manager for Eastern Africa region.
Air France, which operates in an airline group with KLM as Air-France-KLM, also entered into a joint venture partnership with Kenya Airways (KQ) in 2018. The two airlines jointly operate 12 flights a week on the Nairobi-Paris route, as from April. Air France also operates a cargo flight into Kenya.
Air France has been flying to Africa since 1933, it is one of the airline’s key regions. Air France-KLM Group flies to 48 destinations on the continent.
