ABOUT AFRICAN TWILIGHT
Intrepid photographers Carol Beck with and Angela Fisher have given the world a great gift. Their 17 books tracing the VANISHING CULTURES, RITUALS AND CEREMONIES of the AFRICAN CONTINENT can never be equaled as many of these rituals and ceremonies have already disappeared. Their last double volume opus , AFRICAN CEREMONIES, 10 years in the making, was celebrated at the millennium with Kenya’s African Heritage Festival presenting a Pan African show of original costumes and fashions on a catwalk especially constructed over the pool of Nairobi Serena Hotel before it took the show to 23 hotels along the coast of Kenya. Their new double volume opus, AFRICAN TWILIGHT continues their quest since the year 2000 traversing the continent seeking out and recording African cultures, rituals and ceremonies, many of which are now extinct. Photos from their latest work will be coordinated with fashions and costumes from the same cultures on the stage, and on the giant screen, while stars from African Heritage history perform. Post African Twilight fashion designers will be recognized and join in the finale of the show, heralding remarks by Carol and Angela and Alan Donovan
