Africa’s Business Events Industry Converges In Mombasa For The Africa MICE Summit 2026

The Africa MICE Summit 2026 unfolded on 1st and 2nd October 2026 at the Tembo International Convention Centre (TICC), Mombasa, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, destination representatives, business events professionals and key stakeholders under the theme, “Building Africa’s Business Events Ecosystem for Trade, Investment and Innovation.” The two-day summit opened a dynamic dialogue on the future of Africa’s Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) industry, with conversations centred on investment, infrastructure, destination competitiveness, technology, sustainability and the growing economic significance of business events across the continent.

The official opening ceremony remarks were delivered by Ms Kezy Mukiri, Convener of the Africa MICE Summit and CEO of ZURI Events, setting the tone for two days of strategic conversations, knowledge exchange and industry engagement. Her opening remarks ushered participants into a programme designed to examine how Africa can strengthen its MICE ecosystem while creating stronger pathways for trade, investment, innovation and destination development. Among the memorable moments was the soft launch of the Strictly MICE platform by Mr Mansoor Jiwani, CEO of Go Places Africa DMC, introducing another significant dimension to the summit’s focus on strengthening Africa’s business events ecosystem.
