On the morning of Monday, 19th May 2025, the Radisson Blu Hotel in Upper Hill, Nairobi, played host to an inspiring and well-attended breakfast launch for the 15th edition of the Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE) 2025. The event, held from 7:00 am to 10:00 am, brought together key players and stakeholders from Kenya’s vibrant tourism sector. The atmosphere was electric with optimism and determination as the country gears up for one of Africa’s premier travel expos.The launch was graced by top tourism industry leaders who shared their insights and reaffirmed their commitment to making MKTE 2025 a remarkable success. Mr. John Ololtuaa, the Principal Secretary for Tourism, emphasized the importance of MKTE in positioning Kenya as a top global travel destination. He applauded the consistency of the event in showcasing Kenya’s diverse tourism offerings and reaffirmed the government’s full support in ensuring a world-class experience for exhibitors and visitors alike.Ms. June Chepkemei, CEO of the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB), took the stage to unveil strategic initiatives that will define the 2025 edition. She highlighted digital transformation, enhanced international collaborations, and sustainability-focused tourism as key themes. Ms. Chepkemei emphasized the critical role of storytelling in promoting destination Kenya and urged stakeholders to leverage the power of digital platforms to reach a global audience.Speaking at the launch, Mr. David Tanki, Chairman of the Kenya Tourism Board, noted that MKTE 2025 marks a significant milestone for Kenya’s tourism sector. He underscored the collaborative efforts that have gone into the planning process, stating that MKTE continues to serve as a powerful platform for networking, deal-making, and reimagining the future of travel in Kenya and beyond. Mr. Nicanor Sabula, CEO of the Kenya Association of Travel Agents (KATA), echoed similar sentiments, calling on partners to embrace innovation and inclusivity as tools for growth in the tourism space.

The event was mceed by Mr. Alex Tanui and Ms. Wausi Walya.The event also saw participation from several prominent partners and sponsors who pledged their continued support toward the success of MKTE 2025.
