Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi – A Warm Kenyan Welcome
Your adventure begins with a personal welcome at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. A friendly member of our team will greet you at the arrivals area and escort you to your Nairobi hotel. This tranquil urban retreat offers a peaceful start to your journey—ideal for resting after your flight. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, perhaps enjoying a refreshing swim, a walk through the hotel gardens, or simply soaking up the quiet ambiance. Your overnight stay in Nairobi sets the tone for an unforgettable safari ahead.
Day 2: Nairobi to Aberdare – Into the Misty Highlands (Approx. 3 hrs 50 min drive)
After breakfast, depart Nairobi and begin your scenic journey to the Aberdare Highlands. The drive winds past rolling tea and coffee plantations, with glimpses of rural life on the forested foothills of Mount Kenya.
Stop for lunch at the charming Aberdare Country Club, a historic property once known as “The Steep”—the private home of a British settler couple. Set on Mweiga Hill, the club offers sweeping views of the surrounding landscape and a peaceful colonial-era ambiance. It’s more than a meal; it’s a step back in time.
Post-lunch, you’ll transfer to the renowned Ark Lodge, nestled in the heart of Aberdare National Park. Inspired by Noah’s Ark, this quirky lodge is built around a floodlit waterhole and salt lick that attracts elephant, buffalo, bushbuck, and more—often right through the night. Guests are notified via room buzzers when animals appear, ensuring you never miss a rare sighting. Spend the evening enjoying uninterrupted wildlife viewing from any of the Ark’s four decks. Dinner and overnight at The Ark Lodge.
Day 3: Aberdare to Ol Pejeta Conservancy (Approx. 1 hr 45 min drive)
After breakfast, transfer back to Aberdare Country Club to rejoin your safari driver, then head north to the celebrated Ol Pejeta Conservancy, one of Kenya’s most progressive conservation models. Arrive at your safari lodge in time for check-in and lunch. In the late afternoon, enjoy an optional introductory game drive through Ol Pejeta—a chance to glimpse lions, elephants, and rhinos as the sun dips low over the Laikipia plains. Dinner and overnight at your Ol Pejeta lodge.
Day 4: Ol Pejeta Conservancy – Conservation Meets Adventure
Spend the day exploring Ol Pejeta, a pioneering 90,000-acre reserve known for its innovative conservation practices and exceptional wildlife encounters. With both morning and afternoon game drives, you’ll experience the thrill of tracking the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—along with giraffes, zebras, and endangered species like Jackson’s hartebeest.Ol Pejeta is East Africa’s largest black rhino sanctuary and home to the world’s last two remaining northern white rhinos—a sobering and powerful sight. It’s also the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees, rescued and rehabilitated through a partnership with the Jane Goodall Institute.
