The scenic Magereza Grounds in Arusha came alive from June 6th to 8th, 2025, with the vibrant energy of Karibu Kilifair 2025, East Africa’s premier tourism and travel trade fair. This year’s edition was nothing short of spectacular, drawing together industry professionals, exhibitors, and travel enthusiasts from across the globe. The festivities officially began on the glamorous evening of June 5th, with an exclusive cocktail party hosted at the luxurious Gran Melia Hotel, setting a perfect tone of elegance, excitement, and international camaraderie for the days ahead.

The official opening ceremony was held on the morning of June 6th, graced by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Hon. Dr. Doto Biteko, who had the honor of officially inaugurating Karibu Kilifair 2025. In his opening remarks, Dr. Biteko emphasized the importance of sustainable tourism and regional integration. Following the ceremony, he toured various exhibitor stands, engaging with both local and international participants. He was accompanied by notable figures including Mr. Dominic Shoo from the Karibu Kilifair organizing team, Mr. Tom Kunkler, the Kilifair organizer, and the Ambassador of Germany to Kenya, among other distinguished guests, symbolizing the event’s global outreach and diplomatic relevance.

With over 500 exhibitors and attendees from 12 different countries, Karibu Kilifair 2025 stood as a beacon of opportunity and innovation. The event attracted more than 800 registered travel agents from over 40 countries, as well as around 10,000 travel-interested visitors, showcasing the fair’s immense appeal. Key sponsors, including Ngorongoro Tanzania, CRDB, Miracle Experience, Go Places, Clouds Media Group, Precision Air, Tanzania Tourism Board, Coca-Cola, ATTA, and Serengeti Breweries, contributed significantly to the fair’s success. These partnerships highlighted the powerful synergy between tourism stakeholders and corporate entities in driving the industry forward.

One of the fair’s key highlights was the Sustainable Tourism Initiative, which was woven throughout the event’s discussions, exhibitions, and forums. Prominent exhibitors such as Asilia Lodges and Camps, Acacia Farm Lodge, Karibu Camps and Lodges, Hanspaul Automechs, Miracle Experience, Ocean Paradise Resort, TOA Hotel and Spa, and many others proudly displayed their commitment to eco-friendly practices. From innovative safari vehicles to sustainable lodging, the message was clear—East Africa is ready to lead the world in responsible tourism development.

Adding a unique cultural dimension, Karibu Kilifair 2025 introduced dedicated country showcase days: Day 1 celebrated Tanzania, Day 2 highlighted Uganda, and Day 3 spotlighted Rwanda. These themed days allowed each country to proudly present their cultural richness, culinary traditions, and tourism offerings. Guests were treated to colorful displays of national attire, traditional dances, authentic cuisines, and interactive sessions that allowed for deep cultural exchange—an unforgettable immersion into the heart of East Africa.

To wind down Day 1 in style, attendees were invited to a special Cocktail Fun Night Party at the lively Fun Retreat Resort, where laughter, music, and networking filled the air.
