Beyond Milestones, Into Greatness, The TOSK @10 Success Story
From 19th to 20th June 2026, Naivasha became the heartbeat of Kenya’s tourism industry as the Tour Operators Society of Kenya (TOSK) commemorated its landmark 10th Anniversary Annual General Meeting (AGM). Hosted at the picturesque Burch Resort, with the grand anniversary gala culminating at Lake Naivasha Resort, the milestone celebration united an influential gathering of tour operators, hospitality executives, conservation partners, tourism innovators, government officials, exhibitors, development partners, and industry stakeholders. More than an anniversary, the event evolved into a strategic tourism powerhouse where leadership, innovation, business resilience, and collaboration converged to chart the next decade of Kenya’s tourism success story. Gracing the occasion were Hon. Ambassador Julius Bitok, Principal Secretary, State Department for Tourism, alongside Ms. June Chepkemei, CEO of the Kenya Tourism Board, as well as distinguished dignitaries from Uganda, private sector leaders, development partners, and invited guests whose presence reflected the growing regional significance of TOSK’s contribution to East African tourism.

Day One unfolded as an immersive knowledge exchange and business acceleration forum, setting an inspiring tone for the celebrations. Delegates networked with exhibitors before participating in insightful masterclasses, leadership conversations, and business resilience sessions. Industry presentations from leading tourism brands, aviation partners, hospitality groups, travel technology providers, and tourism service companies showcased emerging market opportunities, operational innovation, and future-ready business models. A highly engaging tax compliance session further equipped tour operators with practical regulatory insights, while continuous networking sessions transformed every interaction into an opportunity for partnership development, market expansion, and collaborative growth. Throughout the day, Burch Resort buzzed with entrepreneurial energy as professionals exchanged ideas that will shape Kenya’s evolving tourism landscape.

The momentum seamlessly transitioned into Day Two with the official TOSK Annual General Meeting, where governance, accountability, and strategic leadership took center stage. Members deliberated on key organizational reports, reviewed financial performance, adopted policy recommendations, elected new leadership, and unveiled an ambitious Strategic Plan for 2026–2030. The AGM reflected TOSK’s unwavering commitment to institutional excellence, member empowerment, and sustainable industry development. Beyond the formal proceedings, networking engagements with exhibitors and tourism partners continued to strengthen valuable business relationships, reinforcing the Society’s role as a catalyst for collaboration across Kenya’s tourism value chain.

As evening descended, the celebration reached its crowning moment during the elegant TOSK @10 Anniversary Gala Dinner at Lake Naivasha Resort. The sophisticated celebration blended elegance, reflection, and inspiration as guests enjoyed welcome cocktails, captivating cultural performances, destination showcases, and presentations from strategic partners before the formal programme commenced. The presence of Hon. Ambassador Julius Bitok, Principal Secretary for the State Department of Tourism, together with Ms. June Chepkemei, CEO of the Kenya Tourism Board, senior government officials, dignitaries from Uganda, private sector executives, and distinguished tourism leaders underscored the national and regional importance of the occasion. Their inspiring remarks highlighted Kenya’s growing tourism competitiveness, the importance of public-private collaboration, and the collective vision for positioning East Africa as a globally competitive destination.

The evening continued with heartfelt tributes celebrating a decade of TOSK’s remarkable journey, followed by the symbolic cake-cutting ceremony and a prestigious awards presentation recognizing founding members, outstanding tour operators, innovation champions, sustainability leaders, young tourism professionals, and strategic partners whose contributions have elevated Kenya’s tourism industry over the past ten years. Every recognition reflected the Society’s enduring legacy of professionalism, resilience, collaboration, and service excellence.
