National Cervical Cancer Awareness Week

Women 4 Cancer, 21st – 27th January 2019

In May 2018, WHO Director-General, Dr Tedros A. Ghebreyesus made a global call for action towards the elimination of cervical cancer.

In response to this, the Ministry of Health together with partners through the ‘STOP Cervical Cancer’ initiative, is calling on Kenyans to contribute to the elimination of cervical cancer within Kenya.

Through the inaugural National Cervical Cancer Awareness Week planned for 21st to 27th January 2019, with Free Cervical Cancer Screening to be held in various facilities countrywide. The purpose of this email is to request you to highlight the activities in your networks, to get your subscribers to STOP Cervical Cancer in good time, and to also profile cervical cancer as a public health concern in Kenya. We can avail subject matter experts and cervical cancer survivors for further engagement.

Kindly find attached a Press Release regarding the Cervical Cancer Awareness Week for immediate release. We also invite you to attend the Launch on 21st January at KNH Clinic 66, and the Walk on 27th January at Uhuru Park Grounds.
