Dare To Explore? Kenya’s Adventure Wonderland Is Ready For You
Kenya is set to make a bold statement at the ITB Berlin Expo 2025 as the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, through the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB), leads a 45-member delegation of industry stakeholders to one of the world’s most prestigious travel trade fairs. Scheduled to take place from March 4th to 6th, 2025, this highly anticipated event provides Kenya with a golden opportunity to reinforce its position as the ultimate adventure tourism destination for German and European travelers.

ITB Berlin is recognized as the global hub for travel and tourism, attracting over 10,000 exhibitors from 180 countries and drawing in more than 160,000 visitors annually. With Germany being one of Kenya’s top European source markets, the country is keen on building upon the 12.4% growth in German tourist arrivals recorded in 2024, solidifying its place as a preferred destination for adventure-seekers.
Kenya’s participation in ITB Berlin comes with a strategic focus on adventure tourism, an area where the country truly stands out. From the thrill of witnessing the Great Migration in the Maasai Mara to the adrenaline rush of summiting Mount Kenya, the country offers unparalleled experiences for explorers. Whether it’s skydiving over Diani Beach, hot air ballooning at dawn, deep-sea diving in the Indian Ocean, hiking through scenic landscapes, or cycling across rugged terrains, Kenya is a playground for adventure enthusiasts. Its rich cultural heritage and vibrant communities further add depth to these experiences, making it a truly immersive travel destination.
Tourism Principal Secretary John Ololtua emphasized that Kenya’s participation at ITB Berlin is a game-changer, presenting an opportunity to strengthen relationships with global trade partners and attract more visitors. “We are heading to Berlin with great optimism, buoyed by the impressive tourism numbers we recorded in 2024. This will be our launchpad as we seek to showcase the very best of Magical Kenya to potential visitors and trade partners,” he stated.
KTB CEO June Chepkemei echoed this enthusiasm, affirming that Kenya’s delegation will present a unified message highlighting the country’s diverse tourism offerings. She noted that Kenya is not only a safari destination but a complete package for adventure tourism. “This year, we will differentiate ourselves with a strong emphasis on our adventure tourism products. We will work closely with travel trade partners, as they are the ones who ultimately close the deals. We are going with the message that ‘Kenya is the Real Deal,’” she asserted.
To maximize engagement at ITB Berlin, Kenya will leverage B2B meetings, high-impact networking events, stand activations, and immersive brand experiences. A special adventure tourism workshop will also be held to further position Kenya as a top-tier destination. These strategic efforts are part of Kenya’s broader vision to welcome 3 million international visitors by the end of 2025.
Adding to the excitement, KTB has also confirmed that the Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE) 2025 will take place from October 1st-3rd, 2025, at Uhuru Gardens, Nairobi. This event will further solidify Kenya’s global presence in the tourism sector, keeping the momentum alive beyond ITB Berlin.
Kenya’s participation at ITB Berlin 2025 promises exciting opportunities for travel trade partners, adventure-seekers, and global media representatives. With a strong focus on adventure tourism and a commitment to building lasting partnerships, Kenya is ready to showcase why it remains one of the most thrilling and unforgettable travel destinations in the world.
