On December 10, 2024, a landmark event unfolded at the iconic Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Amphitheatre as the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife officially launched its highly anticipated Strategic Plan for the period 2023-2027. The event marked a pivotal moment for Kenya’s tourism and wildlife sectors, laying out a bold vision for sustainable growth, global competitiveness, and inclusive development.

The launch was graced by the esteemed presence of the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, Hon. Rebecca Miano, who delivered an inspiring keynote address. In her speech, Hon. Miano underscored the government’s unwavering commitment to transforming Kenya into a world-class tourism destination while ensuring the protection and sustainable management of its rich wildlife resources. “This strategic plan is a testament to our collective vision of not only growing Kenya’s tourism economy but also safeguarding our natural heritage for future generations,” she remarked.

The Principal Secretaries from the State Departments for Tourism and Wildlife, Hon. John Ololtuaa and Hon. Among the notable guests present was June Chepkemei, the CEO of the Kenya Tourism Board, who echoed the commitment of the board in driving Kenya’s tourism agenda to new heights. The event also saw the participation of top officials from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), as well as technical leads, academia, media representatives, CEOs, and heads of departments.
