Conservation Commitment: Exploring Nairobi National Park’s Vital Work
Upon President William Ruto’s invitation, King Charles III and Queen Camilla will embark on their first State Visit to Kenya from October 31st to November 3rd. The visit aims to strengthen collaboration between Kenya and the UK in promoting mutual prosperity, combating climate change, enhancing youth opportunities, advancing sustainable development, and contributing to regional stability and security.
Their Visit Program Includes:
1. A formal welcome at State House, Nairobi, followed by bilateral meetings with President William Ruto and a State Banquet.
2. King Charles III’s visit to the United Nations Office at Nairobi to learn about UN Habitat and the UN Environment Programme.
3. Participation in an event honoring the late Nobel Laureate Professor Wangari Maathai’s work.
4. A technology showcase to meet Kenyan tech entrepreneurs.
5. A reception for Kenya’s young leaders in various fields.
6. A visit to a Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery.
7. A tour of Nairobi National Park to witness conservation efforts.
8. Queen Camilla’s involvement with the equine welfare charity Brooke.
9. King Charles III’s visit to Mtongwe Naval Base in Mombasa.
10. The Queen’s meeting with survivors of sexual and gender-based violence.
11. A meeting with faith leaders in Mombasa.

This State Visit commemorates Kenya’s 60 years of independence and acknowledges shared history, including the challenging period of the Emergency (1952-1960). The royals will visit a new museum dedicated to Kenya’s history and pay respects at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior at Uhuru Gardens, in addition to visiting the site of Kenya’s independence declaration in 1963.
