On April 4th and 5th, 2023, the Embu Mega Expo took place at Embu University, showcasing the latest local innovations in technology, agriculture, and other industries. With over 100 exhibitors displaying a wide range of products, including handcrafted goods, electronics, fashion items, and agricultural products, the Expo provided a platform for local businesses to showcase their products and services.
Presentations on a variety of topics, including marketing strategies, innovation, value addition, and investment opportunities, were held during the event, which brought together entrepreneurs, investors, and other stakeholders from across the region
Governor Cecilly Mbarire appreciated the continued support in the growth and development of businesses in the county. She pledged to put in place the necessary policies to promote a conducive business environment and develop an industrial park that will create opportunities for the people of Embu.
A new mobile application that allows farmers to access real-time market information, weather updates, and other valuable data to help them make informed decisions about their crops was launched during the event. The visitors were treated to traditional dance performances, live music, and other cultural displays throughout the Expo.
Trade Cabinet Secretary Hon. Moses Kuria, who was the chief guest, announced that the government would establish five more Export Processing Zones across the country to boost value addition of locally produced commodities.
