A speech that would leave everyone mind blown as I list my numerous achievements and give quotes in the end of my speech like a politician campaigning for a seat. What was the most stunning quality about her speech was that she did not mention anything about herself, or her achievements. All we heard was the story of a supportive mother and a supportive life partner. The emotions after hearing the announcement as so real and unfiltered. Honestly, I shed a tear too. Singing a childhood song to her mother in her native language, as she reminds her of how hard she worked to educate Cheboi and her siblings, and now she has managed to take care of her mother with her hard-earned achievement, was so refreshing to watch and hear. Giving a tribute also to the lover who had left his job to work with Nelly was just jaw dropping. Appreciating people in our lives takes character and attitude. Selflessness, kindness and humility are the most underrated qualities in a person. Character defines where we are going and how far we can get to life. Understanding that family is important, family is not just relation by blood but also relation by commitment to love the other person, and true love and commitment is what we must sacrifice for our loved ones. Above all education, eloquence, achievement, riches and wealth, family will always remain vital in our lives. This is truly a coat of all the colors of life, but family being the brightest color which indeed brings value to the coat.
