MKTE 2018 Exhibitors Briefing At Hilton Hotel, Nairobi Sharing Moments
Exhibitor briefing for the upcoming Magical Kenya Travel Expo 2018 was held on 15th August 2018 at Hilton Nairobi. The event was well attended by tourism and hospitality stakeholders, sponsors and partners. Kenya Tourism Board acting CEO Alan Njoroge gave the opening address followed by representatives of On Show the organizers of the MKTE 2018, who briefed the audience on the setup dates, venues, floor plan, activities, seminars and requirements for participation and were at hand to answer any question.
The 8th Magical Kenya Travel Expo will take place at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre between 3 rd – 5 th October 2018. This tourism expo will be part of this year’s Kenya Tourism Festival that begins on the 27 th of September which also marks the World Tourism Day. This year’s #MKTE2018 has drawn a lot of interest from the tourism and hospitality sector in East Africa as well as other African countries especially due to demand of Intra Africa travel both for Business and Leisure. Over 160 host buyers from travel industry of major Global Source Markets have been invited for a familiarization trip and to attend the expo. The number of host buyers has grown four times since the previous year.
The Travel Buyers will tour Kenya’s famous game parks and reserves for safari experiences as well as adventure sites and Kenya’s award-winning beach destinations. Go Places, the official catalogue sponsor and media partner for the Expo was introduced by Nev Jiwani the Managing Director. She emphasized the importance of taking part in the expo as well as advertising in the main expo catalogue which will be a major tool for host travel buyers and attendees during the three-day event. The new design concept will ensure that attendees will use this catalogue as a reference point to continuously communicate with travel partners that they met during the expo. Once it has been published, the catalogue will permanently be available as an online version on the #MKTE2018 and Go Places Digital websites.
Once again this year attendees and exhibitors will be treated to culinary delights at the Chefs Delight Theatre. Each day two different Chefs Delight award-winning restaurants will showcase what Kenya has to offer as the Wine & Dine experience as well as Kenya’s well known hospitality. Penny Snodgrass from On Show indicated that a few exhibition stands were available and anyone wanting to exhibit should immediately contact them through the numbers on the website and fill out the online registration form. She said that sponsorship opportunities were also available and potential
sponsor should take advantage of the biggest Travel Show in East Africa.
